So, after much weevil wobbling on whether or not I should start this blog I finally decided to. It's a place for me to talk about books I've read. I may have loved it, I may have hated it, or I may just think it would make a good book end at some point. Books are in my DNA. I know that many of you out there feel the same way. Do I think I will be able to tell you, the masses what is a good book and what's a bad one? Nope, because each person takes from a book their own experience. Books are subjected to what we like, what we don't like and what we wish we had. So you may be asking after reading this, why am I even bothering to write this blog? The simple answer is for me. me. me. Yep that's what really motivated me. I sometimes want to say things that may or may not be politically correct about books I've read. Rather than leaving a bad review I will write about said book here.
I will state that if you are looking (after seeing my title) for a book blogger ripping a book to shreds this blog isn't where you'll find it. I will, however, tell you what I like, what I don't like, and more than you ever wanted to know about what I think.
So ratings will go as follows:
- Excellent personal experience. :EPE or 5 stars
- Sort of excellent personal experience :SEPE or 4 stars
- Not so excellent personal experience :NEPE or 3 stars
- Just not for me :JNFM or 2 stars
There isn't a one star because if I've learned anything from writing it's that two star reviews make you depressed enough with out adding the indignity of a one star. So not a single one star will ever be seen here. I will always find something to like about a book even if it's only a single paragraph in the whole darned thing.
I will never talk about my own books here. If you want to know about them I am on Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, Amazon, another Blogger site, as well as my own web page. Wanna know more about them go there, and look at the maddening wheel of marketing for self published authors who are desperately trying to compete with books that have whole marketing campaigns.
Hence, this blog to vent out the cranky without it getting in the way of my own books. If I offend, please forgive me, but I need some place to make snarly comments and talk about how amazing other authors are while I'm still mediocre at best.
