Cranky Author Reviews: The Promise by R.L. Mathewson

I truly love all of the Neighbors From Hell series books...but this one was annoying.

It was a good book but for some reason it had way too many repeated phrases that by the end of the book I was ready to scream and toss it at the wall every times I saw them...

At a certain point I felt like that if Reed thought the little bastard or the little pain in the ass one more time I would have to break out a damned red pen and start editing the book myself...

Then there was the sentences that ended with and- for no reason...why? Why was there an and after all these half finished thoughts? I don't know... but all in all—

Reed and Joey were good together although I didn't see any of the Bradfords love of food in him like I have in other books. There weren't those funny scenes were your trying not to laugh as they stuff their faces that we've all grown to love in her books in this one. It was funny how she just anticipated that he would be hungry and made him food all the time.

I felt like they were good together from the start to finish of the book but felt like the ending was a bit rushed. It would have been nice to see what happened with the kidnapping and wedding.

I guess for me this one was a hit and a miss and I would say
that it was an:

SEPE or a 4 star read or maybe a 3.5 star read because it annoyed the crap out of me!!
