Cranky Author Reviews: House of Darken by: Jaymin Eve

Spoilers
Emma has lost everything she ever knew just months before she turns eighteen. She's lost in a sea of uncertainty trying to claw her way back from the death of her parents....

I read a review from another reader that lamented the way she wobbled back and forth between strength and weakness...

For me I felt that she had just enough Wobble to make it believable. When your young and you lose someone like she did it leaves your levels of confidence and happiness balanced on the edge of a sword ready to topple. When her guardians the only people she has left in the world disappear and she goes out seeking answers she finds more than she bargained for.

I loved her spunk and the less than freaked way she takes learning about the Draken being aliens. Lexen is sexy and brooding but can't resist her despite his dislike of humans. He ends up possessive and angry while he tries to deny his feelings for her but still keep her close...

All in all I loved this book. It had strong characters and a great romance...

So for me this was an EXPE or five star read...
