Cranky Author Reviews: Delectable by R.L. Mathewson

Spoilers

Ok this is the story of Reese Bradford...

Can I just say loved the Bradford clan for a long time but the last book wasn't that great but R.L. Mathewson has redeemed herself a little with this one because it was an excellent read worthy of the Bradford clan...

Reese was dating a women he knew he shouldn't but still wanted to make work because he thought something was better than nothing... only to discover the errors of his way when he gets a nasty letter from her that she is eloping with his former best friend. Of course you don't realize at first that Rodger said best friend is really saving his friend from a loveless marriage and the utter ruin of his life until the end  of the book....

So you have sad sack Reese going on his honeymoon with his family (more Bradford's - Trevor and Jason with said wives Zoey and Haley) and enters widowed Kasey and her bestie Sara...

They ogle the men and the Reese become smitten with Kasey of course in typically Bradford fashion has no idea that he is smitten... Only then adventures begin with Mikey (Kasey's Daughter) Nearly killing him with a baseball and him remodeling her kitchen for free basically likely even adding a lot to the money she gives him in order to make her a dream kitchen. Then everything falls into place and Kasey and Reese fall in love...

Reese goes to the job he hates and Kasey gets preggers and doesn't tell him but he discovers this and marries her of course in typical Bradford Fashion and the live happily ever after...

SO for me this was an EXE or 5-star read

Cranky Author Reviews: Wake A Sleeping Tiger by Lora Leigh

Spoilers

This book wasn't bad I think I am just tired of not getting the whole story. It's like she gives you just enough of this main storyline mystery to get you to read the next book. I'm a little over it after 32 books. I want to end all the mystery and maybe start heading in the direction of the winged breeds.

That being said this was the story of Cullen (or Judd) the brother of insane breed Graeme who's story was just before Cullen's. You see the way a recessed breed can be awakened by the call of his mate. Chelsea has loved him for a long time but never acted on her feelings because of his marriage which she'd thought was happy before his wife died. Only it hadn't been about happiness and love so much as it had been about loneliness for Cullen. So with all these mixed up feelings it took them a long time to work out that they were mates. So when she attempts to leave he goes all breed on her biting and marking her so that she can't escape him.

I loved this series but I felt like this books was something I'd seen before. Not sure if I will read past Cassie's story (the next book) in the breed series because I'm becoming a little bored with the same old same old every time I read one of her breed books lately. Solve some of the mystery and create a new one Lora because I want to love these books again.

So for me this was a SEPE or a 4-star read... only because I can't stand not knowing... I'm just a tad bit impatient I suppose
