Cranky Author Review: Kraven By Laurann Dohner

Spoilers

Let me start by saying I didn't hate this book but I didn't really love it either.

I hated her name Batina from the first book and in this book I didn't like it any better but I could have lived with that. However, 'Bat' as they called her was really extremely selfish...

She assumed Kraven would give up everything for her without even asking herself how much he was sacrificing for her and all for a career that wasn't even something she loved. If it was something she felt passionately about maybe I could have forgiven her for her lack of care....

But with a career she kind of hated it wasn't really okay for her to act the way she did... And her love of money was what got them into the mess they were in in the first place... I loved that she and Kraven seemed to connect and the car chase scene was fabulous.

I also felt that Bat was too quick to decide that she knew best about EVERYTHING which was dumb because she wasn't aware of the rules to Kraven's world. He warned her repeatedly but she didn't listen... and that annoyed me too. It a nut shell this book wasn't something I would recommend as an excellent read but it was a fairly good second novel...

It explained some things that the first book didn't allowing us to learn more about the doctor who helped the sisters and their mother which I did like. I enjoyed that she didn't take his bullshit but hated how heartless she seemed when it came to his feelings and his need to protect her.

I also didn't like that the first half of the book as it repeated too much of the first book and I ended up skimming that first part because of that. Even with my many reservations about this book I am still inclined to read the next one in the series before determine if I will read any more of them or not....

So all in all I would give this a NSEPE or 3-stars because I was annoyed by a lot of things in this book...
